This will help you know when to start preparing her for bed. Bedtime routines should usually be started about a half hour before your baby’s natural sleep time.

Babies are experiencing many new things in their lives with each passing day. Sometimes these experiences can rile them up, making it hard for them to close their eyes for a good night’s rest. However, there are many different soothing practices which parents have relied on over the years to help with this. Some of these practices include: soothing baths, reading them books, singing to them, and giving them gentle massages. While babies may not understand the books they are listening to, or the songs their parents are singing, just the sound of a parent’s voice can help them feel safe and comfortable. Try Out Different Styles:
Each baby has a unique personality, so there is no one easy fix for having your baby fall asleep naturally at night. Don’t force routines such as letting your child just cry it out, because these methods may not actually work for your child, and may just put yourself and your child through a lot of stress for nothing. You will also end up connecting negative experiences with sleeping, making it harder for you and your child in the long run. Basically, you want to everything to create a positive experience for your child, so avoid sleep training that causes more stress for a payout that may or may not occur.
Work towards creating a bedtime routine with the knowledge that it will take time and patience to come up with a plan that works best for you and your baby. If you are ready to put effort into this process without trying to force it, you will both be better off in the end. Try and think of preparing for bed as a bonding experience for you and your child, and not something that you both dread. Finally, lay your baby down before he or she is completely asleep – that way, you are letting them get to sleep by themselves, so that if they wake in the night they can fall asleep again without being in your arms.
